A 20-year-old man has been accused of a horrific crime: abducting and defiling a 14-year-old girl. The man, Peter Ezekiel, appeared in court in Badagry, Lagos State, but did not enter a plea. He faces two serious charges: abduction and defilement.
According to the prosecution counsel, the alleged crimes took place in December 2023 in the Bakery Area of Ashipa, Seme Border, Badagry. The prosecution also stated that the man’s actions violated specific sections of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. These sections likely address offences such as kidnapping and sexual assault of a minor.
The court presided over by Chief Magistrate Patrick Adekomaiya, ordered the man to be held in custody at a correctional center. This decision was made due to the severity of the accusations. The man will remain in detention until a bail hearing can be held in a higher court.
A bail hearing will determine whether the man can be released before his trial, and if so, under what conditions.
