Ruth Erikan James, widely known as Veekee James, is a prominent Nigerian fashion designer, gospel singer, and entrepreneur who has made remarkable strides across various industries. Born on June 9, 1995, in Nsit Atai, Akwa Ibom State, Veekee is the only daughter in a family of three children.
Her father, Mr. Augustine James, was an architect, while her mother, Mrs. Esther James, owned a tailoring business. Unfortunately, Veekee’s childhood took a tragic turn when she lost her father at the tender age of five, leaving her mother to provide for the family. They soon relocated to Ajegunle, Lagos State, where Veekee completed her primary and secondary education.
Veekee initially pursued a degree in Biochemistry at the University of Uyo but eventually left to follow her true calling—fashion and music. Her passion led her to establish the fashion brand “Veekee James,” which quickly gained recognition for its innovative designs. She also channels her faith into her music, organizing the monthly gospel concert “Zion Worship.”
