Rita Uchenna Nkem Dominic Nwaturuocha, born on July 12, 1975, is a highly acclaimed Nigerian actress, producer, model, and philanthropist. As one of Nollywood’s most revered talents, Rita Dominic’s career took off with her role in the film A Time to Kill, after which she cemented her legacy as a versatile actress, portraying a wide range of iconic characters. She is the Co-Founder of The Audrey Silva Company (TASC) and has been widely recognized for her contributions to the Nigerian film industry.
Hailing from the royal Nwaturuocha family of Aboh Mbaise, Imo State, Rita is the youngest of four children. Her late parents, both healthcare professionals, played an influential role in her early life her father was a medical doctor, and her mother, a nursing officer. Rita’s education began at Federal Government College, Ikot Ekpene, and she later earned a degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Port Harcourt in 1999 before joining Nollywood in 1998.
Over the years, Rita has risen to become one of the highest-paid actresses in Nigeria, known for her commitment to her craft and her private nature regarding her personal wealth. She is currently a GLO Ambassador, the CEO of Rita Dominic Productions, and a goodwill ambassador for the Intra African Trade Fair (IATF).
