Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, is a renowned Nigerian actor, writer, producer, lawyer, and former journalist. Born on July 6, 1961, in Delta State, Nigeria, RMD studied Theatre Arts at the University of Benin and later law at the University of Lagos.
RMD began his career as a writer and actor, appearing in soap operas like Ripples and Checkmate. He won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in 2005 and received a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016.
RMD served as Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Delta State from 2009 to 2015. He has also hosted several events, including the GLO-CAF Awards.
RMD has been married twice, first to May Ellen Ezekiel, who passed away in 1996, and then to Jumobi Adegbesan. He has five children from both marriages.
