Kate Henshaw-Nuttal, born on July 19, 1971, in Cross River State, Nigeria, is the eldest of four children. She completed her primary education at St. Mary’s Private School in Lagos and attended Federal Government Girls College for secondary school. Henshaw pursued remedial studies at the University of Calabar before majoring in Microbiology at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH). She later worked at Bauchi State General Hospital.
In 1999, Kate married Roderick James Nuttal, a British-born businessman, and they had a daughter in 2000. Their marriage lasted 12 years before they separated.
Henshaw gained widespread recognition in 2008 when she won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in Stronger Than Pain. Over the years, she has featured in numerous films such as When the Sun Sets, Chief Daddy, The Wives, Games Men Play, Scars of Womanhood, and Roti, among others. Her accolades include the Most Promising Actress in Nigeria and an African Magic Viewers’ Choice Award.

Besides her acting career, Kate Henshaw is a fitness enthusiast, dancer, social advocate, and brand ambassador for several companies, including CWay.
In 2014, she ventured into politics, launching a campaign to represent Calabar Municipal/Odukpani Federal Constituency under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Although she lost the primary election, Cross River State Governor Ben Ayade appointed her as Special Adviser in 2015.
