Bendel Insurance Football Club, a Nigerian team based in Benin City, has arrived in Casablanca, Morocco for their upcoming match against RS Berkane on Friday.
The match is the second leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup for the 2023/2024 season.
The first leg of the competition was played on September 16th in Benin City, where RS Berkane managed to force a 2-2 draw against the Nigerian team.
In order to qualify for the group stage of the continental competition, Insurance needs to either win or draw the second leg of the match against RS Berkane.
Ahead of the match, the Head Coach of the club, Monday Odigie, has expressed confidence that his team will defend their pride and dignity in Morocco.

The stand-in captain for the club, Amas Obasogie, has also spoken about the team’s determination to fight for everything in the field of play, in order to go home happy.
He mentioned that the team made two mistakes in the first leg of the match in Benin City, which they will not want to repeat in Morocco.
Above all, the team wants to fight to win for their State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, who has been wonderful in giving his all in sponsorship and motivation.
The Governor’s support has taken the team this far, both in the domestic league and at the continental level, and the team is determined to make him proud.
