The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released the list of shortlisted players for the Women’s Player of the Year award for 2023.
The announcement was made on Monday via a statement on the CAF website.
The statement revealed that the list had been narrowed down to just ten players, all of whom are running to win the prestigious individual honour.
In addition to the Women’s Player of the Year award, there are also several other categories for the CAF Awards.
These include Interclub Player of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year, Young Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, National Team of the Year, and Club of the Year.
Each of these categories has five nominees.
According to the statement, the winners of each category will be determined by a voting panel consisting of CAF Technical Committee members, media professionals from Member Associations, Head Coaches, Captains of Member Associations, and clubs involved in the group stages of the Interclub competitions.
The Awards Gala will take place on Monday, December 11th, at the Palais des Congrès, Movenpick, Marrakech, Morocco.
This event will be the culmination of an exciting year in African football, recognizing the best players, coaches, and teams on the continent.
