Components of the Data Complex
The newly inaugurated Data Complex is an integrated facility that includes several critical components aimed at streamlining operations and enhancing security measures:
- Command and Control Centre: Dedicated to overseeing regular migration activities, ensuring efficient processing and monitoring.
- NIS Data Centre: A hub for storing and managing all immigration-related data securely and efficiently.
- ECOWAS Biometric Card Production Centre: This facility is geared towards producing biometric identification for the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), facilitating easier and secure movement within the region.
- Interior Data Centre: An internal system for data management within the NIS, enhancing internal operations and data integrity.
- 0.5KW Solar Power Plant: Demonstrating a commitment to sustainability, this power plant supports the complex, ensuring operations are maintained even during power outages.
This complex represents a leap forward in Nigeria’s approach to immigration and border management, integrating technology to improve service delivery, security, and compliance with international standards.
