Zacchaeus Adangor, the Rivers State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, has resigned from his office.
In a letter addressed to the state governor, Siminalayi Fubara, the Attorney General Adangor said his resignation was “based on personal reasons.”
But sources close to Adangor disclosed that he resigned because of the “unconstitutional” presentation of the state budget.
CRUX NEWS reports that the governor had on Tuesday presented budget to five out of the 32 members of the House of Assembly, and ordered the demolition of the state assembly complex on Wednesday.
This is coming in less than 48 hours after 27 out of the 32 Assembly members defected to the All Progressive Congress, APC.
