Nigeria Immigration to Roll Out Contactless Passport Renewal Service for Citizens Abroad
In a landmark development for Nigerians living abroad, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) is set to launch a contactless passport renewal service in two days, allowing Nigerian citizens outside the country to renew their passports without needing to visit an embassy. This initiative marks a significant step towards improving accessibility and efficiency in passport services, addressing longstanding challenges faced by the Nigerian diaspora.
The new system, designed to streamline the passport renewal process, will include an online application portal where applicants can submit their renewal requests. Once approved, passports will be processed and directly delivered to applicants, reducing both processing time and logistical difficulties.
