The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Area 2 Command, Onne Port in Rivers State, has intercepted a significant shipment of illegally imported drugs, including counterfeit tablets valued at over ₦46.399 billion. The seizure, made through heightened vigilance and security protocols, marks one of the largest anti-smuggling operations by the Customs in recent times.
According to NCS officials, the containers held various counterfeit pharmaceutical products that posed grave health risks if they had reached the public. This operation is part of a broader crackdown on the importation of fake and unauthorized drugs into the country, aligning with the government’s intensified focus on public health and safety.
