Manchester United has officially parted ways with Erik Ten Hag following a disappointing season. The Dutch coach oversaw the club’s lowest league finish since 1990, concluding the campaign in eighth place despite leading the team to an FA Cup victory.
The decision comes after scrutiny from new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team, who found Ten Hag’s tactics and performances uninspired. During his two-year tenure, Ten Hag secured two trophies but had notable fallouts with key players, including Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho.
Ruud van Nistelrooy, previously an assistant, has been appointed as interim manager while the club searches for a permanent replacement. This decision comes after a series of poor performances, despite heavy summer investment in new players.
