In a bold move to reshape federal bureaucracy, former President Donald Trump announced that tech entrepreneur Elon Musk and political commentator Vivek Ramaswamy will head the newly established Department of Government Efficiency, or “DOGE.” Trump revealed that the duo’s mission will be to streamline government operations by dismantling bureaucracy, slashing regulations, and cutting wasteful spending.
The initiative, set to be “The Manhattan Project of our time,” aims to fundamentally reform U.S. government structures.
The Department of Government Efficiency will work closely with the White House and the Office of Management and Budget to implement sweeping reforms. By fostering an entrepreneurial approach to government, Trump envisions a leaner federal system “accountable to ‘We the People.’” He set a target of July 4, 2026, the nation’s 250th Independence anniversary for significant progress toward a smaller, more efficient government.
