Simultaneously, in Abuja, another fatal stampede occurred at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Maitama during a food distribution event aimed at supporting the elderly and vulnerable. On Saturday, December 21, 2024, the gathering resulted in ten deaths, including four children, as confirmed by the Federal Capital Territory Police. This event, meant to spread holiday cheer, instead highlighted the dangers of unpreparedness for large crowds at charity drives.
