Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja has reinstated Philip Shaibu as the Deputy Governor of Edo State, months after he was removed from his position.
In a judgment, Justice Omotosho declared that the impeachment by the Edo State House of Assembly was illegal and unconstitutional, highlighting that it was in gross violation of the Constitution.

The court ordered that Shaibu’s salaries and allowances be paid retroactively from April.
