The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially removed the second-leg fixture between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Libya’s Mediterranean Knights from the ongoing 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The update was shared on CAF’s official X handle on Tuesday, with the game conspicuously absent from the newly released schedule.
Originally, the match was slated to occur in Libya at 8 PM on Tuesday, following the Super Eagles’ narrow victory over Libya, which ended 1-0 during the first leg at Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo. However, significant issues arose surrounding the return leg, particularly concerning the Super Eagles’ harrowing experience at the Libyan airport, where players and officials faced over 14 hours of delays. This ordeal led to their eventual return home, raising concerns about logistics and safety.
