Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has appointed his daughter, Mrs. Helen Eno Obareki, as the Acting First Lady of the state. This decision follows the tragic passing of his wife, Pastor Patience Umo Eno, nine days ago.
The governor, still mourning the loss of his wife of 38 years, entrusted Mrs. Obareki with the role as the state continues to honor the legacy of Pastor Patience.

Mrs. Obareki’s appointment as Acting First Lady marks a significant step in ensuring the continuity of the charitable and social initiatives spearheaded by the late First Lady.
Governor Eno expressed confidence that his daughter would uphold the values and programs her mother championed, including the Golden Initiative for All (GIFA).
