A notable political figure and former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Bolaji Abdullahi, has stepped down from his membership in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, effective immediately.
Resignation Letter Details
In a letter directed to the PDP chairman of his Ubandawaki Ward in Ilorin West, Abdullahi formally announced his departure from the party. The letter, which was confirmed by Mas’ud Adebimpe, a former chief press secretary to ex-Senate President Bukola Saraki and a close ally of Abdullahi, detailed that this decision followed significant personal reflection.

PDP’s Reaction
The state publicity secretary of the PDP, Olusola Adewara, commented on Abdullahi’s resignation, noting it as a personal decision. Adewara expressed well wishes for Abdullahi’s future endeavors, emphasizing that there was no bad blood associated with his departure. He highlighted that Abdullahi’s entry into politics was self-initiated, and his exit, based on personal conviction, was met with understanding rather than contention from the party.
