A tense scene unfolded at Dakar’s airport in Senegal on Wednesday night as a Boeing 737 passenger plane carrying 85 people veered off the runway.
Thankfully, no fatalities were reported, but according to Transport Minister El Malick Ndiaye, 10 people were injured in the incident.
The Air Sénégal flight, operated by TransAir, was bound for Bamako, Mali with 79 passengers on board when the accident occurred late Wednesday.
The flight crew consisted of two pilots and four cabin crew members.
Details surrounding the cause of the runway excursion are scarce, but reports indicate that the injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The remaining passengers were reportedly transported to a hotel for accommodation while authorities investigated the incident.
