The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu, has confirmed making a request to the Accountant General of the Federation, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Sakirat Madein, to send public funds to a private account.
The request, involving over N585 million, was intended for grants to vulnerable groups in Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Lagos, and Ogun states.
The minister’s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity stated that the payment followed due process, and the funds were for implementing grants for vulnerable groups in the specified states.
The payment was made to the account of Oniyelu Bridget Mojisola, identified as the Project Accountant for Grants for Vulnerable Groups.
