Bandits have tragically claimed the life of a lecturer at the Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) in Katsina State.
Dr. Tiri Gyan David, who served as the Head of the Department of Agricultural Economics, Extension, and Rural Development at the university, was killed in the early hours of Tuesday during a violent attack by bandits.
An eyewitness reported to Channels Television via telephone that the incident took place around 1:30 am at the lecturer’s residence in Yarima Quarters, Low-Cost Estate, Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The attackers stormed the community armed with sophisticated weapons, firing sporadically to create panic among the residents. During the assault, the bandits also abducted two of Dr. David’s children.
Katsina Police Command spokesman, Abubakar Sadiq, confirmed the tragic event and assured that a detailed statement would be released soon.
Dutsinma is one of the ten local government areas in Katsina State frequently experiencing bandit attacks, despite ongoing efforts by the state government and security agencies to restore peace.
