The conduct of South Korea’s athletes has been under scrutiny at the ongoing Asian Games.
One of their judokas, Lee Hye-kyeong, was disqualified in the semi-finals of the women’s 48-kg division for slapping her Kazakh opponent in the face during their bout on Sunday.
Similarly, men’s tennis player Kwon Soon-woo was involved in an epic tantrum on Monday after he lost to a much lower-ranked Thai opponent, which included destroying his racket and snubbing the post-match handshake.

In an attempt to make amends, Kwon visited Thailand’s training camp to apologize, according to a South Korean tennis federation official.
Meanwhile, Thailand’s Princess Sirivannavari Mahidol added a royal touch to the Games by riding in on a horse named ‘Es Fangar’s Samba King’ in the dressage team event
Despite finishing fifth, she was unable to add a medal to the crown jewels, but the 36-year-old daughter of King Vajiralongkorn remained optimistic and said, “Luckily our father is supporting us.”
Princess Sirivannavari has previously played badminton at the 2006 Asian Games and competed in equestrian at the 2014 edition.
