The All Progressives Congress, APC, has suspended it chairman in Roni Local Government Area of Jigawa State, Saleh Idris.
The State chairman of the party, Hon. Aminu Sani Gumel made the announcement in a statement made available to CRUX NEWS on Thursday.
CRUX NEWS reported that a 56-year-old chairman was arrested for allegedly raping his housegirl.
“Following the allegation of rape and impregnation of minor and the outcome of preliminary investigation of the state chapter, the party has come up with the following resolutions:
“That your act contravened section 21.2 (viii) and (x) of the APC 2022 Constitution as amended and that there is a need for further investigations.”
According to the statement, Saleh Idris has been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation.
The suspect was ordered to hand over its affairs to his deputy.
