A Federal High Court in Lagos has adjourned the continuation of singer Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley’s trial till November 13 and 30th.
The case was adjourned following the defendant’s absence from court.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, is prosecuting Naira Marley on charges bordering on cybercrime.
The anti-graft agency preferred the charges on May 14, 2019.
The singer was arraigned before Justice Nicholas Oweibo on May 20, 2019, but he pleaded not guilty and he was granted bail of two million naira, with two sureties in like sum.
Following the commencement of the case, Justice Oweibo had on 6th Oct, issued a warrant for the production of the defendant, over his absence from trial on the last date, after the application for a production warrant by the prosecution, Mrs. Bilikisu Buhari.
CRUX NEWS reports that the Lagos State Police has detained Naira Marley and his associate, Sam Larry, in connection with the death of Nigerian artiste, Oladimeji Aloba, a.k.a Mohbad.
