Dr. Ajuji Ahmed has been appointed as the new acting national chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
The party disclosed this in a statement released on Tuesday by its national publicity secretary, Yakubu Shendam.
The NNPP spokesperson stated that Ahmed will assume control of the party following the resignation of Alhaji Abba Kawu Ali during the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) meeting held on Tuesday.
Reports indicate that Ali resigned following recommendations from his personal physician.
“Dr. Ajuji Ahmed has been elected as the Acting National Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) after Abba Kawu Ali’s resignation,” the announcement stated.
“Abba Kawu Ali announced his resignation as the Acting National Chairman during the National Working Committee (NWC) meeting at the party’s National Headquarters, located at 11 Mahatma Gandhi Street, Area 11, Abuja, citing his personal physician’s advice as the reason,” the report continued.
