In a recent announcement, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has rescheduled the quarter-final second-leg match between Wydad Casablanca and Enyimba in Morocco.
Originally scheduled for Wednesday, 25 October, the match will now take place on Thursday, 26 October at 7 pm.
The reason for the date change is the inability of Enyimba to fly out to Morocco on Monday due to the Moroccan authorities’ failure to issue a landing permit for a chartered aircraft from Murtala Mohammed International Airport.
According to NPFL News, the Enyimba contingent did not make the trip to Casablanca as planned.
The first leg of the match played at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, ended in a 1-0 victory for Wydad.
Enyimba had a player sent off in stoppage time during the encounter.

This rescheduled match is crucial for both teams, as it will determine who progresses to the next stage of the African Football League.
The African Football League was launched on 10 August 2022, initially as the Africa Super League, and was supposed to include twenty-four elite African clubs with a promotion/relegation system.
However, due to logistical challenges, the league has been scaled down to eight teams for its inaugural campaign, running alongside CAF’s other main club competitions, the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.
The league kicked off in October 2023 and has since been a source of excitement for African football fans.
