Ivory Coast has been diligently preparing to host the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations soccer tournament, which is scheduled to take place from January 13th to February 11th.
Intending to develop football locally and demonstrate its ability to host an international sporting event, Ivory Coast has invested significantly in infrastructure relating to the competition.
To facilitate transportation and connectivity, the country has built roads that will allow for the smooth movement of players, officials, and spectators between different cities where the matches will be played.
In addition to these, Ivory Coast has constructed four new sports stadiums that will provide state-of-the-art facilities for the tournament.
The president of the Ivorian Football Federation, Idriss Diallo, expressed his optimism about the country’s future as a hub in the sub-region, saying that all countries without approved stadiums will be welcome to use Ivory Coast’s facilities.
He estimated that the country had invested over $1 billion in the construction of stadiums, roads, hospitals, and other infrastructure relating to the competition.
