The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Local Organising Committee (COCAN) have announced that they will be introducing a new concept called the Main Media Centre (MMC) during the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations, Côte d’Ivoire 2023.
This innovative concept marks a significant milestone in the history of the tournament because it is the first time such a centre will be implemented.
The MMC is designed with a centralized approach that aims to provide a dedicated space for journalists, broadcasters, and photographers to cover the tournament.
The main objective of the MMC is to enhance media services and create an efficient and collaborative space for the diverse range of media professionals covering the tournament.
The centre includes a dedicated area with two rows exclusively for photographers, recognizing the significance of visual storytelling in sports journalism.

Furthermore, an exclusive area is designated for media agencies, contributing to a collaborative working environment.
The MMC also includes a media café area to ensure a comfortable working environment for media professionals.
All Matchday-1 press conferences for teams, along with other CAF press conferences and media briefings, will take place at the MMC.
The centre also serves as the central hub for broadcasting, providing live feeds from all matches to the facility.
Even non-approved media for match telecasts can watch matches at MMC.
The MMC is located at Palais de la Culture de Treichville in Abidjan and is set to open its doors on January 10, 2024, three days before the opening match of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations, Côte d’Ivoire 2023.
The introduction of the MMC is expected to provide a more comprehensive and efficient service for media professionals covering the tournament.
