The new owners of AC Milan are determined to build a brand-new stadium that will enable the club to compete with the top teams in Europe.
The San Siro stadium, which is owned by the local authority, has been the home of AC Milan and rivals Inter Milan for decades.
However, both clubs have been exploring the possibility of moving away from the historic stadium and constructing their separate arenas on the outskirts of the city.
Gerry Cardinale, the founder and managing partner of RedBird Capital, which acquired AC Milan in a 1.2 billion euro deal in 2022, has confirmed that the club will have a new 70,000-seater stadium that will also be capable of hosting music events.
He believes that this move will not only benefit Milan but also Italy and Serie A as a whole.
Cardinale has also announced his plan to create a company that will construct stadiums for all the other teams in Serie A.

This could be a significant development for Italian football, as many of the country’s stadiums are in dire need of renovation.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who played for AC Milan until his retirement in 2023 and now works as a senior advisor to the club owners, has expressed his excitement about the move.
While he acknowledges the great memories associated with the San Siro, he believes that there is always room for a new beginning.
Despite the plans for a new stadium, the Milan city authorities have expressed their willingness to work with both clubs on a possible revamp of the San Siro.
Nonetheless, AC Milan’s new owners are determined to push ahead with their plans for a state-of-the-art stadium that will help the club reclaim its status as one of Europe’s top teams.
