Idris Okuneye, famously known as Bobrisky, has been sentenced to six months imprisonment without an option of fine by Justice Abimbola Awogboro.
The judgement was made on April 12th, following his arraignment on April 5th on charges of Naira Abuse and money laundering.
During the proceedings, the court dismissed the charges of money laundering but convicted him on account of Naira Abuse.
Before the judgement, the adjourned case which was originally scheduled to hold on April 9th was moved to April 12th.
The judge, however, sentenced Bobrisky to six months imprisonment without bail, indicating that he would not be able to leave custody until the completion of his sentence.
This judgement has come as a surprise to many, given the social media influence and popularity of Bobrisky.
It remains to be seen how this development will impact the social media space and the entertainment industry as a whole.
