A Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Ireti Kingibe, has said that there is a big disconnect between Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the FCT, and the elected officials.
The lawmaker, who was elected on the platform of the Labour Party, LP, stated this on Sunday, during an interview on Channels Television.
She said “I have WhatsApp messages, I have written him one or two letters and I don’t get any response.”
Speaking on the root cause of the worsening insecurity in Abuja the nation’s capital, Senator Ireti said” I would say without exaggerating that maybe a quarter of the Police Force are guarding VIP, which is not their primary function.”
“A little bit earlier I tried to draw their attention (security operatives) and I was told that it was exaggerated.”
The FCT is presently being ravaged by kidnappers, who take their victims into different forests around Abuja, Kaduna, Niger and other surrounding States
Senator Ireti had revealed plans by the Senate to summon Wike.
