The Nigerian film industry, popularly known as Nollywood, is about to witness the release of a star-studded blockbuster titled “Malaika.”
According to the movie’s producer and ace actress, Toyin Abraham, the film is scheduled to hit cinemas in the United Kingdom on January 5.
Abraham shared the news on her Instagram page and expressed her excitement, encouraging movie lovers to brace themselves for an unforgettable cinematic experience.
The film, directed by Steve Sodiya, was premiered on December 17 and released in cinemas across Nigeria on December 22.
Since its release, it has reportedly grossed over N143 million in just 11 days, making it the second-highest-grossing film for 2023.

“Malaika” features some of the biggest names in Nollywood, including Ibrahim Chatta, Uzor Arukwe, Odunlade Adekola, Pelumi Olawuni, Taiwo Lyncett, Adesege Adeniji, and Ugandan entertainer Anne Kansiime, among others.
The plot revolves around a woman, played by Toyin Abraham, who struggles with infertility and anger issues but embarks on a transformative spiritual journey with the support of her friends and family.
The movie promises to be a must-watch for movie enthusiasts, thanks to the impressive cast and the intriguing plot.
