A total of 11 Boko Haram terrorists were reportedly killed when troops of Operation Hadin Kai conducted a successful raid on their concealed bases within Bama Local Government Area in Borno state.
Zagazola Makama, a publication focusing on counter-insurgency efforts in the Lake Chad region, indicated that the mission was executed in conjunction with operatives from the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).
The publication also reported that four terrorists were apprehended by the troops, and six hideouts located in the Sambisa forest eradicated during the raid.
The raids took place over the span of August 4th and 5th, 2023. Among the obliterated hideouts were Bula Shetan, Lawanti, Garin Ari Shira, Kashimri, and Gaizuwa.

An eye witness who communicated with Zagazola Makama, said the troops confronted the terrorists in Garin Ari Shira village, resulting in a fierce firefight where five militants were killed and the troops set the village ablaze.
In a separate incident, the insurgents infiltrated Alafa but hastily withdrew as the sound of gunfire, unleashed by the military, echoed through the air.
The source noted that during an ambush orchestrated by the troops in Lawanti, one insurgent was eliminated.
Local explosive devices, bicycles, and various other materials were recovered from the terrorists.
On August 5th, the troops meticulously raided another terrorist hideout in Kashimri, resulting in the death of five militant while in pursuit of escaping insurgents in Gaizuwa, four of the militants were apprehended by the troops, while the remaining evaded capture.
