Michael Adams, a former sales representative has been arraigned by the police before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, for alleged 4M theft.
The defendant is standing trial before Magistrate L.K.J Layeni, on a one-count charge of stealing.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, Dr Simon Uche, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on April 5, at BBA Trade Fair Complex in Ojo, Lagos State.
He alleged that the defendant, while still acting as a sales representative to his employer, one Mary Jane, stole the total sum of N4.01 million.

The money is said to be the property of his employer.
According to the prosecutor, following investigations, the defendant was later apprehended and detained by the police.
He said the offence contravened the provisions of section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The court granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case until Nov. 29 for trial.
