The Nigerian Olympic Committee has announced that Team Nigeria will be sending a total of 358 athletes to participate in 25 different sporting disciplines at the upcoming 13th African Games.
The quadrennial African Games, also known as the All Africa Games, are scheduled to take place from March 8 to March 23 in Accra, Ghana.
The Nigerian athletes were officially accredited at the Delegation Registration Meeting held on March 4, as per the NOC Public Relations Officer Tony Nezianya.
The Nigerian athletes will be competing in a range of sports, including Taekwondo, wrestling, karate, arm wrestling, weightlifting, badminton, boxing, judo, scrabble, tennis, and many more.
Taekwondo, wrestling, and karate will be represented by 14 athletes each, while arm wrestling has 15 athletes.
The U-20 football teams for men and women, the Flying Eagles and Falconets have 20 players each, and weightlifting and badminton both have 12-member teams.
Boxing has 11 fighters, and Judo has 10, while scrabble and tennis each have eight members.

The athletics delegation, including relay teams, is the largest with 50 athletes while swimming, chess, triathlon, and beach volleyball have four representatives each.
Additionally, basketball 3×3, cricket, cycling, hockey, football, handball, mixed martial arts, rugby, table tennis, taekwondo, volleyball, and weightlifting have also been included in the list of sporting disciplines in which Nigerian athletes will participate.
With such a wide range of sports, Nigeria is expected to put up a strong showing at the African Games.
