Nigeria’s Flying Eagles have secured a significant 1-0 victory against South Sudan in their second Group B game at the ongoing African Games in Accra, Ghana.
The team had lost their opening match 2-1 to Uganda and was looking to bounce back, which they did in a hard-fought match against South Sudan.
Sadiq Isiyiaka, who had scored Nigeria’s only goal against Uganda, converted a penalty in the second half to give the Flying Eagles a slim but crucial win.

The Ladan Bosso-led team will now turn their attention to their final game against Senegal on Friday, where they will aim to secure a place in the semi-finals of the men’s football event.
The Senegalese team lost their second Group B fixture 1-0 to Uganda on Monday.
With this win, Nigeria’s Flying Eagles have kept their hopes of progressing to the knockout stages alive and will look to build on this performance in their upcoming fixture.
